Sun Life Financial Philippines opens the year by rallying Filipinos towards health and wellness. Simultaneously, it aims to raise over Php 5 Million for charity in its annual fun run, the Sunpiology Resolution Run.
The run took place last January 20 at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City. The event attracted over 3,000 runners, who tackled obstacles designed to raise awareness about diabetes. There was a limbo rock challenge that reminded everyone to keep their health in check. A 100-step challenge gave reminders on how to infuse exercise into one’s daily routine. There was also a sugar tunnel that prompted everyone to watch their sugar intake.
Sun Life has been championing diabetes awareness since 2015. This started after studies that it commissioned showed that many Filipinos lacked knowledge about the debilitating disease. Part of the funds raised from the many activities Sunlife champions will go to the Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation (ISDFI). ISDFI facilitates diabetes awareness and prevention initiatives for Filipinos. Other beneficiaries are Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation, Hebreo Foundation, and the Star Magic scholars.
Now in its 9th year, the run was co-presented by Star Magic and led by actor and Sun Life brand ambassador Piolo Pascual. His fellow artists – Matteo Guidicelli, Enchong Dee, Robi Domingo, Kisses Delavin, Edward Barber, and Maymay Entrata – also joined the event. The event completes Sunpiology Duo, Sun Life’s bike-run event, which commenced last November 2017 with the Sun Life Cycle PH.
